UPDATE: 6 people taken to hospital after bus flips on its side on Big White Road

(Update: 11:20 a.m.) - Big White Road is now open to all traffic in both directions after a bus flipped on its side this morning. 

(Update: 10 a.m.) - Police say that there were 22 passengers in addition to the driver on a bus that flipped on its side this morning, blocking Big White Road. A total of six people have been taken to hospital via ambulance with minor injuries.  The road is expected to re-open within the hour.

Big White Road has been closed this morning after a bus flipped on its side.

The Kelowna RCMP say that no significant injuries have been reported as a result of the incident. The bus is blocking the road east of Kelowna at about the 4km mark, police say. 

BC Ambulance, RCMP, and Big White Fire Department are on scene. It is unknown at this time when the road will re-open. Further updates will follow.
