The search for a missing Kamloops man has come to a tragic end.

The Kamloops RCMP says 47-year-old Kelvin ‘Kelly’ Jobson, who was last seen on April 6, was found dead near Kelowna two weeks later.

Jobson’s body was discovered in a creek just off the 201 Forest Service Road, north of Big White, on the afternoon of Saturday, April 20.

Police immediately treated the suspicious death as a suspected homicide, and the BC Coroners confirmed that to investigators on Tuesday, April 30.

As a result, both the Southeast District Major Crimes Unit and Kamloops RCMP are a part of the probe into Jobson’s disappearance and homicide.

Investigators are turning to the public in hopes of receiving information that could piece together a timeline between when Jobson was last seen and when his body was found.

“Based on the investigation so far, we know that Kelly was in Kamloops on April 6 or 7, outside of his residence on Linden Avenue,” explained S/Sgt. Todd Wiebe.

“Although we have conducted neighbourhood inquiries and video canvasses to help us timeline his last movements in Kamloops, we are asking the community to please take another look and reconsider if they saw or heard anything that might be related, now that we have confirmation he is sadly deceased.”

Police provided the following description of Jobson:

Anyone with information related to Jobson’s disappearance and death is urged to contact the Kamloops RCMP detachment at 250-828-3000.

That includes suspicious activities before or after he was seen last in Kamloops or in the area of the 201 Forest Service Road where he was found dead.
