Body found near Orchard Park Mall, RCMP treating death as suspicious in nature

Kelowna RCMP are currently on scene after the discovery of a deceased individual near Orchard Park Mall on Wednesday morning.

Police were called to an orchard in the 2100 block of Cooper Road shortly before 11 a.m. for a report of a body being found in that location.
 

The area has been secured by Kelowna RCMP and they continue to investigate the incident at this time.

“Police are treating the individual’s death as suspicious at this time,” states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey. “Our investigation is in its early stages and updated information will be provide as it becomes available.”
 

RCMP are awaiting the arrival of the BC Coroner’s Service and have not yet confirmed a gender or an age of the deceased individual.
