UPDATE: Man found dead in Kelowna identified as 52-year-old local

(UPDATE: Nov. 23 @ 5:07 am) – The man who was found dead in a park near Sutherland Avenue on Monday morning has been identified as a 52-year-old from Kelowna.

Kelowna RCMP said the investigation into his death has now been turned over to the BC Coroners Service.

Police said that the man's death is not considered suspicious.

They added: "Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this difficult time."


(Original story: Nov. 22 @ 10:40 am): The body of a man was discovered in a park near Sutherland Avenue early this morning.

Shortly after 8 am, officers responded to the 1500-block of Sutherland Avenue and Burtch Avenue.

Investigators found the deceased man and members of the Serious Crime Unit and BC Coroners Service were called to the scene.

The incident remains under investigation and RCMP have yet to release information about the cause of the death.

However, a news release explains that more information will be released as it becomes available.
