Bush fire that damaged Kelowna home on Sunday deemed suspicious

A fire that burned a row of hedges and caused damage to the adjoining house is being deemed suspicious, say Kelowna Fire Department. 

They received a call at approximately 3:28 p.m. on Sunday regarding a fire at 475 Woods Road in Kelowna and sent out two engines, nine personnel and a command vehicle to attend.

When respondents arrived, the found a row of cedar hedges actively burning. While the fire was quickly snuffed out, it was able to damage the adjoining home before being extinguished. 

Firefighters believe the fire was suspicious in nature and it is now under investigation by the RCMP. One person was treated for minor injuries by BCAS at the scene.
