A local business was lucky enough to get a visit from a celebrity this weekend.

Jay MacDermott, owner of MacDermott’s on Bernard, was at the store on Saturday when they got a visit from none other than Nicolas Cage.

"He was very nice, really nice. We fitted him up, he picked what he wanted and then we bugged him for a photo," MacDermott laughed.

“You just never know who you’ll see shopping at MacDermott’s,” the local shop said in a social media post.

It’s not the first time Cage has visited the Okanagan. He was in the sci-fi action thriller, The Humanity Bureau, which was shot last April in Oliver and the Osoyoos.

The film has recently been released, and some members of a South Okanagan family shared the big screen and rubbed shoulders with the impressive cast.
