The spring radio ratings were released on Thursday and once again it’s CBC that claimed the top spot.
It’s no surprise, as the public broadcaster is usually the highest-rated radio station in Kelowna, but the dominance was even more defined this year.
CBC had a 23.2% share, which is the estimated total hours that people in the region tuned into that station, expressed as a percentage.
That number was more than double the share of the second-highest-rated station, New Country 100.7, which had a 10.5% share.
Kelowna’s two Jim Pattison Broadcast Group stations, Beach Radio and Power 104, each fell one spot in the ratings from last year, as their shares fell around 2% each.
The bottom half of the ratings saw Virgin Radio, News 1150, Move 101.5 and K96.3, in that order, all with shares between 6.6% and 7.3%.
The city’s newest radio station, 103.9 The Lake, was not rated this spring, as it just recently came on the air.
These ratings were done based on a two month period between the start of March and the end of April.
