Volunteers with the Central Okanagan Search and Rescue were called out on Saturday to a hiking trail between Lake Country and Oyama to rescue an injured ATV driver.
The man had been riding on the High Rim Trail back to his campsite when his ATV flipped and threw him, according to COSAR.
He sustained serious head injuries. He was found by two other dirt bikers in the area who administered first aid and called 911.
COSAR members arrived on scene as the BC Ambulance crews were loading the man into the ambulance.
They stood down but stuck around at the head of the trail to make sure the ambulance crews were able to exit the trail safely.
This was COSAR’s eighth call in June and 47th of the year.
