A candle lit vigil is set to be held on July 16 at 9pm, for members of the community looking to pay their respects for the victims of the crane collapse that took the lives of five individuals on July 12.
People are asked to gather in the 500 block of Bernard Avenue and to bring a battery operated candle and a hi-vis vest to wear.
The Canada Safety Equipment 1973 Ltd. has donated 100 hi-vis vests to wear in solidarity with construction workers.
An open mic period will be held at the end of the evening, for anyone who would like to speak or share an experience with a moment of silence to be held afterwards to close out the evening.
Donations will be collected in person from the North Okanagan Labour Council (NOLC), and will be distributed between the five families.
The NOLC has a strict accounting and financial policy set out by the Canadian Labour Congress, an experienced treasurer and three additional auditing trustees will be taking care of the money through the process.
The North Okanagan Labour Council will also be live streaming the event on their facebook page.
