Central Okanagan Board of Education names newest trustee

The Central Okanagan Board of Education released the results of the latest school board byelection and the final trustee position has officially been filled. 

According to unofficial results, Wayne Broughton received the most votes in Saturday's byelection. He won with 1,033 total votes. 

"The results are preliminary until the official results are declared this coming week," wrote the City of Kelowna's Chief Election Officer, Laura Bentley.

Other residents receiving votes included Joyce Brinkerhoff at 739, Peter Pagliocchini at 228 and Chelsea Frank at 42. 

The new trustee will fill the role until at least October of 2022.
