It’s that time of year again for Central Okanagan businesses.
They will have to renew their business licences, which is required to own or operate any business, over the coming weeks.
Kelowna businesses have a deadline of Jan. 16, while businesses that deal with the Regional District of Central Okanagan have to do it by Dec. 31, otherwise the fee goes from $85 to $110.
“Businesses, big and small, are essential to our city, economy and quality of life,” said Terry Kowal, business licence manager with the City of Kelowna.
“Business licences help identify your business to the community and protect the safety and wellbeing of residents by ensuring compliance in areas such as building codes and service delivery.”
The City will send out renewal notices to e-billing subscribers on Dec. 1, but those who aren’t registered for a Property Account online will get them later in the month. Learn more here.
The RDCO also offers online services for businesses, but you can also pay by mail, online banking or in person.
