The City of Kelowna Access to Recreation Department is making a call out to local musicians who want to make a difference in our community.

The department offers a wide variety of programs and classes to locals of Kelowna with diversabilities at the Parkinson Recreation Centre.

One of those programs is their Acoustic Music Therapy class, “Rockin with Clay,” and according to Kim Przybyl, Community Recreation Coordinator for the City of Kelowna, it has become the department’s most beloved class.

Running twice per week, the class sees nearly 80 participants including support workers. Rockin’ with Clay features instructor Clay Brown and his acoustic guitar, playing top hits from decades past, as well as some new tunes. Attendees regularly join in with percussion or just dance along.

After nearly six years of instructing the class, Brown is moving onto a new venture outside of Kelowna, meaning that the city is on the hunt for a replacement.
