The upgrades at Rowcliffe Park are continuing this fall.

City of Kelowna crews will be installing a new washroom for the popular park and it won’t be your typical old toilet either, as a ‘Portland Loo’ is going in.

“The standalone, single stall washroom was specially designed to work in urban settings like Rowcliffe Park,” said a City release.

“The walls are graffiti proof, and open grating at the top and bottom encourages appropriate use of the washroom.”

Work on the new washroom, as well as curb, gutter and sidewalk additions along Chapman Place, will begin on Oct. 26 and continue into December.

All sections of the park will remain open during construction.

It’s the final phase of work for the park, which has been completely overhauled over the past three years.
