The City of Kelowna will be closed on Friday in observance of Remembrance Day.

Branch 26 of the Royal Canadian legion will be hosting its annual Remembrance Day parade and ceremony in downtown Kelowna.

The parade will begin at 10:40 am and will proceed along the lakefront from Stuart Park to the cenotaph in City Park.

The Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans will also be holding a ceremony at the cenotaph at Lions Park in Rutland. Guests are asked to arrive by 10:30 am ahead of the procession.

As a result of the holiday, a few facilities and services across the city will be altered.

Parkinson Recreation Centre will be open with adjusted holiday hours from 10 am to 3 pm.

The Glenmore Landfill will be open regular hours from 7:30 am to 4:45 pm.
