Don Neufeld is a lover of music, long-time guitar player, handyman, and retiree in Kelowna.

He and his wife Eileen just celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on the May long weekend, but the couple is spending most of their time at home, where a hospital bed has been brought in for Don.

In January, Don wasn't feeling well and after seeing a doctor he was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer a short time later. The cancer has now spread to his liver.

They tried target therapy, but after it made his condition worse, doctors are no longer treating his cancer.

A GoFundMe has been started for the family to give his wife peace of mind and freedom from their financial worries. The funds will also give them a cushion for the months to come.

“We are asking for your financial help as you know cancer not only is hard financially on a family but emotionally,” reads the GoFundMe. “If we can take the worries of finances away for the family to ensure Don is comfortable and without worry for Eileen for the next few months that would be appreciated.”
