Kelowna city council has received plans for a proposed YMCA child care centre situated on Dilworth Mountain.

The two-storey care centre would sit at the corner of Dilworth and Summit Drive and feature an outdoor play centre in the northwest corner of the building.

According to a report to council, the proposal includes the construction of a 23-stall parking lot that will also be assessable to those at the Dilworth Mountain sports fields during peak usage in the spring and fall.

The report also outlines two scenarios for the overall use of building.

In the first, both levels of the building would be used for childcare and offer capactiy for 124 children plus eight employees.

If only one level of the building is used for childcare, the centre would have the capacity for 50 children plus eight employees.

A development permit for the project will be considered by council on Monday, Jan. 27.
