Early morning structure fire in Pandosy area sends 4 to the hospital

An early morning structure fire sent four people to the hospital and three cats to the vet on Monday.

The Kelowna Fire Department responded to a house fire at about 4:15 am on the 2200-block of Woodlawn Street.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a single family house with heavy flame and smoke at the rear of the building. 

Two other structures on the property were also on fire.

Unfortunately, the home suffered major damage while the other structures were moderately damaged.

One of the properties was vacant at the time.

Four people suffered smoke inhalation and three cats were taken to the vet for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

No other injuries were reported, however.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time and will be investigated by fire crews.
