Emergency crews snuff out afternoon house fire in Lower Mission

Kelowna Fire Department crews were quickly on the scene of a house fire in the Lower Mission on Tuesday afternoon.

The fire started at the single-family residence, in the 800 Block of Coronado Cresent, at approximately 2:30 pm.

First arriving officers were met with heavy smoke conditions coming from the roof and entire soffit area of the home.

The crew located a fire in the kitchen area and were able to quickly knock it down but not before the kitchen suffered significant damage and smoke migration throughout the home.

The fire, which prompted a 18-personnel response, isn’t deemed to be suspicious.
