UPDATE: Cyclist falls down 60-foot rock face on Dilworth Mountain

(UPDATE @ June 11 @ 6 p.m.): Kelowna Fire Department and Central Okanagan Search and Rescue crews have successfully rescued a man after he fell down a 60-foot rock face.

According to the KFD, crews gathered along the Okanagan Rail Trail at the bottom of Dilworth Mountain's south east side where they found a bike belonging to the man.

The KFD Tech Rescue team and COSAR then successfully extracted the man from the bottom of the rock face where he had suffered significant lower body injuries.

The patient was then prepared for transport and carried out by emergency rescue personnel and sent to Kelowna General Hospital.

(Original story: June 11 @ 4 p.m.): Kelowna emergency crews have been called into action along the Okanagan Rail Trail near Dilworth Mountain.

According to Ed Henczel with Okanagan Search and Rescue, a cyclist has fallen down a ravine off of the Okanagan Rail Trail.

Details are still limited, but crews were first called into action around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
