City staff have received plans for an intriguing new business proposed for Ellis Street across from the Okanagan Regional Library.

Dubbed as Revelry Kelowna, the three-storey building would serve as a restaurant, music hall or urban ballroom depending on the event.

Plans call for three food and beverage locations throughout the venue, which will feature seating on the main floor and an open second level that will allow for vantage points of the stage.

“Our wide open, hall-style environment will offer spaces suited for anyone seeking an alternative space to be productive and for groups looking to collaborate, all while enjoying simple but good food and beverage options,” states the developer application.

Developers say live music and comedy events will be featured regularly when the space will flip from restaurant mode to venue mode in order to host patrons for local, national and international talent.

“It is our hope to bring a style and caliber of artist to our stage that may not have frequented Kelowna in the past,” adds the application.

Over the years, the proposed space between the Actor’s Studio theatre and the Madison residential tour has severed as a location for multiple retail stores, but is currently listed for sale by Royal LePage.
