If you have a chance to fill up your tank tonight, you might want to do so.

Gas prices are expected to make a serious jump in the Central Okanagan by Wednesday.

According to GasBuddy, a handful of stations across the city have already increased to 146.9 cents a litre and the rest are soon to follow.

"If you see it at a 134.9 buy it," said Dan McTeague, Senior Petroleum Analyst for GasBuddy.

"It’s a safe bet that will be the price at every station in Kelowna with very few exceptions in the next few days."

According to McTeague, gas stations switching over from winter to summer gasoline, a rise in the price of crude oil and the falling Canadian dollar are all factors in the sudden rise.

Prices at Vancouver pumps hit a record-breaking 157.9 cents a litre yesterday.

Unfortunately, for drivers, that record will likely be broken again by the week's end.
