Several RCMP members assisted with evacuations and police dog services cleared the building.

Eventually, the package was determined to not be suspicious in nature and all employees and occupants were allowed to return inside.

"Kelowna Community Health and Services Centre was evacuated at about 10:20 a.m.," said a tweet from Interior Health.

"(Interior Health) appreciates everyone's patience at this time. We would like to thank staff, clients and patrons for their quick and calm response in leaving the building.

The five-storey building, which houses Interior Health, the YMCA and more, is fully open once again.
