If you're a student in the Kelowna-Lake Country area and you're still looking for work this summer, you might be in luck.

Member of Parliament, Stephen Fuhr, announced on Friday that 197 Kelowna-Lake Country jobs would be available for students this summer through the Canada Summer Jobs (CJS) program.

Students looking for work can check out the list of jobs by visiting the CSJ website

The program funds businesses and help employers hire students.

Young Canadians in the program gain experience in areas of study, but not necessarily, in order to further their career goals.

Among the jobs listed for students in the Kelowna-Lake Country area, some include:

Thrive Out of School Program, Lake Country Museum and Archives, Actors Studio Academy Foundation, Bumbershoot Theatre, Festivals Kelowna, CRIS Adaptive Adventure, Mennonite Central Committe, Ogopogo Summer Swim Club, YMCA of Okanagan and more.

Between the summer of 2016 and the summer of 2017, the Government of Canada has gone from offering 34,000 jobs to 65,800.

Since the Canada Jobs Program started in 2007, the Government of Canada has helped 330,000 students find jobs.

The CSJ program is just one part of the Youth Employment Strategy (YES). This year, the government invested $330 million into YES-affiliated programs focusing on jobs and skill development for youth.
