Residents who live in Winfield or Lake Country should be aware of a road closure happening next weekend.

The City of Kelowna and District of Lake Country will be resurfacing a portion of Beaver Lake Road on Oct. 14 to Oct. 16.

The road will be closed which will result in limited vehicle access within the construction zone over the weekend. Pedestrian access will be maintained, however.

Crews will be working from Highway 97 to Jensen Road and there will be single-lane alternating traffic between Jensen Road and Bottom Lake Road.

Construction is scheduled to begin at 7 pm on Friday, Oct. 14. The road will reopen by 7 pm on Sunday.

"The District of Lake Country and the City of Kelowna are taking advantage of a mutually beneficial opportunity to conduct this important road work,” says a news release.

“Beaver Lake Road is a key transportation connection in the region and a weekend closure with overnight work will minimize the disruption to the travelling public.”
