A fundraiser will be held this weekend at Train Station Pub on July 4 and 5 going towards the recovery of Ainsley Wood.

In June, 14-year-old Ainsley and her family’s lives changed forever when she fell while climbing trees with her brother and friends.

The injury to her back was so serious that the young girl and her family were flown to Vancouver General Hospital, which is a premier spinal centre.

She underwent spinal cord surgery to have the C5 removed, relieving pressure on her spine, along with having her C6 repaired.

Ainsley and her family remain at VGH where she continues her recovery that's likely to last 6-8 weeks in Vancouver before her recovery transitions back to the Okanagan.

In an effort to raise funds for that process, the event is being held between noon and 5 pm when a portion of all sales will go towards helping Ainsley and her family.

A GoFundMe was also set up for the family, which you can visit by clicking here
