A young family is reeling after a fast-spreading fire claimed the lives of their seven pets, along with their house, over the weekend.

The young mother and her kids were thankfully not home at the time of the blaze, however, they’re left to put the pieces of their lives back together.

To help them do just that, Meghann Atina, who is the victim's sister-in-law, has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for the family.

“It’s truly heartbreaking to lose one pet, but all in one day is unfathomable,” Atina wrote on the GoFundMe description.

“As a family member, I would like to help in raising money. She needs all the basic necessities like a new home, clothes, furniture, beds for her and her children.”

Atina says that if you can spare anything at all, “it would be most helpful.”

The campaign has set a goal of $5,000 and has received three donations in its first few hours of existence.

There's also going to be a special Comedy for a Cause night at Dakoda's on Friday, April 27th.

Tickets for the event will be $15 and all the proceeds are going to the Cooper family.
