Kelowna’s Grenfell Haunted House provided plenty of scares for a good cause leading up to Halloween.

The haunted house recorded a total of 4,197 people passing through its doors while it was open between Oct. 26 and Oct. 31.

People certainly left the haunted house with a fright, but only after they arrived with goods for the Kelowna Food Bank.

Organizers say they received $3,257 in cash donations and 4,100 pounds in food donations, the equivalent of $13,508 in food bank dollars.

"Thank you to everyone who came to get scared, the volunteers and sponsors who were all integral fo making this event a success," said organizer Clarence Johnson.
