Kelowna viewers of the popular TV show “Love It or List It” will see a bit of their hometown in an upcoming episode.
Okanagan College nursing instructor Monique Karlstrom and her husband Mike will be featured in an episode airing on Monday, Nov. 11, alongside their Kelowna home.
Karlstrom has taught nursing at the college for more than 10 years and in celebration of the instructor’s television debut, a screening party will held in the school’s lecture theatre.
For a suggested donation of $20, viewers can get a seat in the theatre where movie snacks will be available and all proceeds will go towards creating a bursary for future nursing students.
I have always had a passion for nursing and began my career in the profession at the age of 17,” explained Karlstrom in a press release.
“Nurses dedicate their lives to help individuals and their families during their most vulnerable times. Each and every one of us will be touched in some way by a nurse throughout our lives.
“Some of those hundreds of students I’ve taught over the years would not have been able to obtain their nursing education without the help of scholarships, so I thought, this would be a fun way to raise some money for students.”
