The teenager was walking at the northwest corner of the intersection of Harvey Avenue and Dilworth Drive when she was struck by the vehicle, a Harley-Davidson, which had in turn been hit by a Toyota car.

Police said another pedestrian – a 13-year-old girl – was also hit by the motorcycle and taken to hospital for treatment with the 15-year-old, but has since been released.

It happened at about 9:15 pm.

"Tragically, the 15-year-old pedestrian succumbed to her injuries a short time later," Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy said.

"Our deepest condolences go to her family and friends.”

Police said the Toyota was making a left turn from Harvey to head north on Dilworth when it collided with the Harley-Davidson, which was travelling west along Harvey.

The motorcycle then hit the two pedestrians.

Police said the motorcycle driver was taken to hospital with serious and potentially life-threatening injuries.

No update on the driver's condition has been released.

Mounties are now searching for witnesses and video recordings of the incident.

“The driver of the car remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation,” Cpl. Noseworthy added.

“We are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or has any information, to come forward and speak with us.”

The BC Coroners Service is conducting its own investigation into this death.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
