(UPDATE: Monday @ 2:45 p.m.): - The RCMP have identified the body found in the lake at Gyro Beach on Sunday.
Caitlin Midori Bradley, 29, was from Surrey, Mounties said.
Criminality does not appear to have been involved in her death, they added.
They have released her name in an effort to find out what she was doing in the build-up to her death.
The RCMP and the BC Coroners Service are investigating what happened to Bradley.
"Retracing Caitlin Bradley’s movements leading up to her death will be one of the priorities for our investigators and we urge anyone who may be able to assist us with this to contact us immediately,” Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey said.
“At this point in the investigation, although Caitlin’s death has not yet been officially classified, our investigators do not believe criminality was involved,” Cpl. O’Donaghey added.
Numerous friends of Caitlin's have been paying tribute to her on social media.
The area has been reopened to the public following the discovery of Bradley's body on Sunday.

(UPDATE: Sunday @ 3:45 p.m.) - RCMP have confirmed that a body was found floating in the waters at Gyro Beach on Sunday.
They were received reports at 2:23 p.m. of a "person, floating face down" in the Okanagan Lake on the shores of Gyro Beach and responded to the scene with BC EMS paramedics and the Kelowna Fire Department.
“The investigation remains in its early stages at this time, as police work alongside the coroner to identify the deceased,” states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey spokesperson for the Kelowna RCMP.
“Once the individual is identified, our next priority will be to properly notify their next of kin.”
Gyro Beach will remain closed while emergency crews continue to work at the scene.
It is expected to be closed to the public for several hours as the RCMP and the BC Coroners Service conduct their investigation.
“We would greatly appreciate it if the general public would avoid the immediate area at this time,” adds Cpl. O’Donaghey.
This is the second body that has been found in the Okanagan Lake this month. Another body was pulled from the City Park beach on Apr. 4.

A large section of Gyro Beach has been closed to the public Sunday afternoon with several police vehicles, with at least 10 police officers, and an ambulance present.
Stephanie Hilash, a bystander, noted that before she was asked to leave numerous people, including police officers, were crowded around a small area, looking into a portion of shallow water.
"I took a couple pictures and then the police came up and said that we had to leave," Hilash said.
"One guy behind me protested and then that's when he said it was a medical emergency so we had to clear the area."
Hilash noted a stretcher on the beach as they were cleared from the area.
