The Regional District of Central Okanagan has announced some holiday changes to garbage and recycling collection.

This year, the curbside waste collection is affected during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday period.

There won’t be any collection on either Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.  As a result, curbside pick-up moves ahead one day during the last week of December and the first week of January.

During these weeks only, residents who normally have collection on Monday should put their carts at the curb on Tuesday. Tuesday collection will be on Wednesday, and Thursday collection on Friday.

Friday pick-up will take place on Saturday, December 30th and Saturday, January 6th.  The weekday collection schedule returns to normal on Monday, January 8th.

Remember to put all wrapping paper (except foil ), flattened boxes and cartons into your recycling cart for curbside pick-up, or take to your nearest recycling depot.

Keep the recycling spirit going by saving all shiny and foil wrapping paper and cards, ribbons and bows for reuse.
