(UPDATE: 3:35 p.m.) - West Kelowna Fire Department has confirmed that the injured patient that was thrown off the horse was a 14-year-old female that sustained non-life threatening injuries from the incident.
WKFD responded at approximately 10:25 a.m. to the call of a person in distress with two vehicles, including a rescue vehicle, where the young girl was found four-kilometres into the woods from Bear Creek Road, explained Brent Watson, Assistant Chief with the WKFD.
She had sustained injuries to what appeared to be her pelvic area but was in stable condition when she was airlifted to KGH.
(Original Story: 2:15 p.m.) - B.C. Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) and West Kelowna Fire Department rescued an injured horseback rider from Bear Creek Park Tuesday morning.

BCEHS received a call at 10:12 a.m. of a person in distress and dispatched three units, including an air unit which airlifted one patient to Kelowna General Hospital.
The patient was transported to the KGH in stable condition.
