A “defensive fire attack” was then employed, which controlled the blaze from outside the home.

The house, though, has been extensively damaged.

No occupants were inside at the time of the fire.

The fire department said the cause is unknown and will be investigated today.

It took four engines, a command unit, a rescue truck and 19 personnel to fight the fire, alongside attending Mounties and medics.
