A house in Kelowna was hit by fire last night.
Firefighters were called to the blaze, on the 800 block of Morrison Avenue, at 11:45 pm.
They were alerted to flames seen coming from the front door.
When they arrived, they found the main floor on fire.
A “defensive fire attack” was then employed, which controlled the blaze from outside the home.
The house, though, has been extensively damaged.
No occupants were inside at the time of the fire.
The fire department said the cause is unknown and will be investigated today.
It took four engines, a command unit, a rescue truck and 19 personnel to fight the fire, alongside attending Mounties and medics.
