(UPDATE: July 19 @ 9:52 am): The highway is now open to single-lane traffic.


(Original story: July 19 @ 7:45 am): Hwy 33 has been closed in both directions. 

DriveBC said downed hydro lines were to blame, with a vehicle incident between Beaverdell Station Road and Carmi Station.

Crews are assessing the problem, DriveBC said.
