Mission Recreation Park has scored an improved irrigation system.

Construction will get underway at the park on Thursday.

The project is part of the Irrigation Infrastructure Renewal Program.

“The irrigation system for three soccer fields will be upgraded and replaced in order to lower maintenance costs, improve watering efficiency and conserve more water,” said Andrew Gibbs, Senior Project Manager.

The $300,000 construction project is expected to be completed by October 31st, 2017.

Field bookings and schedules will be impacted and city staff are working closely with the user groups to reschedule certain things.
