Haven’t you heard? When women gather, incredible things happen. We’re sure you’ve seen it.

An entire community of strong women here in the Okanagan know it and they want to bring more women up with them.

You’re invited to the first annual Ignite Okanagan Women’s Conference on September 15, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. held at the Mary Irwin Theatre in Rotary Centre for the Arts.

“I saw a need for this in my community, as I felt that women were becoming increasingly disconnected from each other,” said event coordinator, Rebecca Voros. “We seemed to be losing ourselves to our families, jobs, external expectations and pressures.”

The conference is made to celebrate women and inspire them to reach for their dreams, whether they are big or small and to help women step out of the caretaker role to find out what they really want from their lives.

Voros sees that ‘unhealthy competition and comparison was becoming too much of the norm’ and felt that there needs to be a change in the female community.

Ignite Okanagan will be filled with inspiring speakers who will share their stories of personal successes and challenges to provide more women with the tools to continue this powerful movement.

Ignite Okanagan’s keynote speaker is Elizabeth Beeds of Women’s Holistic Business Academy who will help you thrive in your business life and personal life.

Some other speakers include Amanda Zaal from Aim + Glow who will discuss how she handles life’s hurdles, Michelle Dupuis who proves that your past does not define you, Christine Esovoloff from Csek Creative on how fear, accountability and empathy are the ingredients for your successes, and many more!

The conference will be broken into three parts:

Repurpose Your Past

Own Your Present

Create Your Future

There’s a process to follow to understand your own worth. The speakers want to help attendees take their lives to the next level and set them up for success!

Women have made major breakthroughs in history, why stop there? Why put a halt to such a strong movement?

“We need to recognize our power and potential, to honour our gifts, and to give ourselves permission to follow our passions and dreams,” said Voros.

Because this event was planned by women for women, a portion of the ticket sales will be donated to Mamas for Mamas and used as a scholarship for a lucky local Kelowna high school student.

Ignite Okanagan is also partnering with Dress For Success Kelowna and they will be accepting donations of gently used business attire.

Tickets are available online until the event day. Tickets are an $119 investment for a full-day of empowerment, community and support from inspiring speakers and swag bags and prizes from community partners. If you are a group of five women, you are eligible for a 15% discount!

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a stay-at-home mother, a post-secondary student or just looking for inspiration, you will definitely find purpose and power in yourself.
