The Kelowna Gospel Mission (KGM) has announced the 12th annual Strides Kelowna walk and run.

With the goal of raising $70,000, this year’s event, which includes a 2K walk, 5K walk or run and a 10K run, will be held at The Laurel Packinghouse on March 4 from 2-5 pm.

Troy McKnight, the director of resource development, is encouraging the community to “come and show your support.”

“Every dollar you raise goes towards providing wrap-around services that support your community,” McKnight adds.

The event brings together corporate partners, donors, community members and the people served by the KGM to provide resources for Kelowna’s unsheltered neighbours, while addressing the stigma of homelessness.

Registered attendees will receive a long-sleeve Strides Kelowna running shirt, and there will be warm food from the KGM Community Eats food truck at the end of the walk.

Walk-ins are welcome on the day of the event, with a minimum donation of $30 per person and $65 per family.
