The Kelowna Fringe Festival will be drawing the names of the 2023 Fringe Festival artists and revealing this year’s theme at their St. Patrick’s Day event this Friday.

At 7 pm on March 17, theatre lovers, artists and St. Patricks Day revelers will come together in the Black Box Theatre for the special occasion.

“Audiences will see a set from one of Kelowna Fringe Festival's favourite comedians, Bonnie Esson, and dance to sweet tunes spun by our celebrity DJ CBC Radio host and Kelowna Fringe Festival 2022 artist, Joseph Otoo,” said Annie Zalezsak, the New Vintage Theatre Board president.

Patrons will also have a chance to win prizes, as there will be several draws and door prizes for dressing up in green.

Other surprises can be found in New Vintage Theatre’s Lucky Bags, with prizes from local sponsors including retailers, events and restaurants.

The Office Brewery will be providing green beer, and Forbidden Spirits will have tastings by donation.

Funds raised from the event will go towards renting venues and covering production costs.

Fringe Festival performers get to keep 100% of their ticket revenue, so fundraisers such as this are essential.

“New Vintage Theatre will also announce the casts for their upcoming season of plays, many of whom will be in attendance,” Zalezsak added.

Tickets for the event can be purchased here
