The 40th annual Christmas Dinner will be served at Kelowna’s Gospel Mission this Saturday.
From noon to 6 p.m., the KGM will open it’s doors to those in need within our community, to feast on a hearty dinner with all the traditional Christmas fixings.
The menu will include turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, veggies, cranberry sauce and dessert — all at no cost.
On average, the KGM serves over 700 meals at the annual dinner thanks to the help of 50 plus volunteers who come out to lend a hand.
Local dignitaries, Mayor Colin Basran, Loyal Woolridge, Ryan Donn and Norm Letnick will join in as part of the volunteer crew this year.
“The issue of homelessness has been top of mind in our community in the past year. It’s a privilege for us to be able to serve our city’s most vulnerable in such a tangible way,” said Randy Benson, executive director of Kelowna’s Gospel Mission.
“Everyone here is our neighbour and, for some, we are the only family they have.”
