Traffic was held up in Glenmore on Saturday as the RCMP dished out a number of tickets.

Those tickets went to Hells Angels riders who were on their annual Poker Run from Kelowna to Vernon.

However, as the run made its way up Glenmore Road, members of the Kelowna RCMP were forced to pull over and issue violation tickets to a number of riders, including the lead bike.

The lead bike failed to obey a traffic light and held up five blocks of traffic along Glenmore Road.

“The driver of the lead bike was pulled over and issued a violation ticket after refusing to advance at an unobstructed green light,” explained Cst. Lesley Smith.

“The driver was waiting for the entire group to line up and despite a clear direction from the Kelowna RCMP member on scene to drive forward, the lead driver remained stationary at the green light.”

He was issued a ticket for failing to obey a traffic control device, but the pull over caused even more traffic troubles along Glenmore.

The entire ride came to a halt behind him since other participants didn’t know the marked route to Vernon and were waiting for the lead.

Once tickets were issued, the riders agreed to obey all traffic laws and the Poker Ride continued safely to the North Okanagan.
