Kelowna RCMP investigating after man, 78, seriously injured by U-Haul hitting bus

Police are investigating after a U-Haul van crashed into a BC Transit bus in Kelowna on Friday. 

It happened on KLO Road near St Armand Road at about 5:20 pm, police said.

Three people were injured, including the 34-year-old woman driving the van and 42-year-old man driving the bus. 

The sole passenger on the bus, a 78-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. 

The other two people received minor injuries.

According to the RCMP, the U-Haul had been driving west and struck the bus as it was attempting to merge with eastbound traffic.

“This collision is still under investigation and the Kelowna RCMP Traffic Section is looking to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have video of it,” the Kelowna RCMP said.
