Kelowna RCMP investigating 'serious' assault that sent 1 man to the hospital early Wednesday

Kelowna RCMP are investigating an assault that sent one man to the hospital early Wednesday morning.

Just before 3 am, officers responded to the 100 block of Gray Road and found evidence that a serious assault had occurred, however, the victim was not immediately located.

Officers searched the surrounding area and were able to locate the 27-year-old male on Valleyview Road. He was suffering from severe injuries, say police.

The man was transported to the hospital, where is receiving medical treatment.

Police were able to locate video surveillance of the attack which shows the victim being attacked by another male. 

The suspect fled the scene but has since been arrested.

This file continues to be investigated by the Kelowna RCMP Robbery Unit with the support of the Kelowna RCMP Forensics Unit.
