Kelowna RCMP investigating suspicious overnight house fire

No one was home when a fire broke out at a Kelowna residence in the early hours of Friday morning.

The Kelowna Fire Department responded to the blaze in the 1000 block of Francescutti Court shortly after 1 am.

Upon arrival, crews found the fire coming from the second story windows and roof of the home.

They began a defensive attack from the exterior in an effort to knock the fire down before entering the residence and completing the job. 

According to the KFD, the fire is considered suspicious and the RCMP have taken control of the investigation.

Four engines, a command unit, a rescue truck and 17 personnel responded to the overnight fire.
