A woman is still recovering in hospital following a hit and run earlier this week.

Kelowna RCMP received report of the incident on Monday, although it happened on Sunday night.

After an investigation, it’s believed that the woman was hit by a vehicle and landed unconscious in a ditch near the corner of Ethel Street and Lawson Avenue.

She was found with several broken bones and other injuries by a security guard in the area around 9 p.m.

RCMP say she may have walked to this location from Bernard Avenue around an hour before she was found.

“The vehicle that struck this woman will have damage and it should be quite evident that this vehicle came into contact with an object or a person,” says a release from the RCMP.

If you were the driver of this vehicle or have any information that could help police track that driver down, you’re asked to call Cst. Katherine Link at 250-762-3300.

You can also report tips anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
