Kelowna RCMP quickly arrest man wanted on BC wide warrants

A 38-year-old BC man wanted on province-wide warrants was arrested in Kelowna on Wednesday.

On Aug. 10, at about 10 am, Kelowna RCMP received information that the suspect was driving a Ford F250 that had been reported stolen out of Golden, BC.

Kelowna officers, with the support of RCMP Air Services, were quick to locate the vehicle and set up containment.

According to police, the male suspect and a female passenger abandoned the truck and attempted to flee on foot.

However, Police Dog Services were called in to track the man who was located just after noon.

He was arrested without incident. The woman was also taken into custody without issue.

The man is facing seven charges from his warrant. 

Kelowna RCMP say it is expected he will be facing additional charges including possession of stolen property, flight from police, driving while prohibited and resisting arrest.
