The newly renovated Water Park will be open for the long weekend.

The City of Kelowna said the attraction, which is based in City Park, will open at 8 a.m. on Saturday.

New features include misting grasses, a Ladybug Soaker, spraying woodland critters and spray cannons disguised as wildflowers.

The park was damaged by flooding in 2017, forcing it to close.

It remained closed for the 2018 summer season and renovations began in March of this year.

The park now has a new water delivery and disposal system that meets health standards and is flood resistant.

The renovations cost $410,000, but were covered by insurance.

The park will be open until 8 p.m.
