Kelowna City Council will be on the move for a portion of the April 22 regular afternoon meeting.
The April 22 afternoon meeting, which usually starts at 1:30 pm, has been rescheduled to start at 9 am.
That is because city council will be touring six infrastructure projects happening around town.

A staff report says that includes the Bertram Avenue and Burtch Road improvements in support of the Building a Stronger Kelowna Parkinson site, which is currently in the design phase.
Council will also be touring the Leckie Road active transportation corridor from Hwy 97 to Dilworth Drive, which is currently under construction.
Other tour sites include:

Sutherland Avenue active transportation corridor and utility upgrades west of Gordon Drive, which is currently under construction.

Burtch Road extension from Byrns Road to KLO Road. A new road connection to be delivered on an accelerated basis.

DeHart Rd between Gordon Drive and Lakeshore Road, reconstruction of the roadway in conjunction with the new DeHart neighbourhood park. Currently commencing construction.

Lakeshore Road upgrades, from DeHart Road through to Lanfranco Road, which is currently in the design phase.
“A Council tour of transportation project sites is arranged as part of Council’s decision-making process,” says the staff report.
“The tour itself is considered a Council meeting since a quorum of Council members will be participating, and the information received is part of their decision-making process for this initiative.”
Staff say "every effort will be made" to broadcast the April 22 tours on the city’s website and in council chambers.
