The Kelowna Fire Department was called out around 9:15 pm on Tuesday.

The fire was in the Mill Creek Crossing building at 1912 Enterprise Way and the first arriving crews reported dark smoke on the third floor of the complex.

Fortunately, since the fire was late in the evening, there were very few people inside and everyone was able to evacuate safely.

“Crews entered the building, gained access to the third floor balcony on the west end where they aggressively attacked the fire containing it to the balcony and exterior wall,” explained Steve Roshinsky, platoon captain.

Roshinky added that damage to the balcony floor was extensive.

The case of the fire is not suspicious.
