Three dancers from Kelowna will be representing Canada on the international stage this winter.

In December, Sunny Sokolowski, age 16, Savannah Goncalves, age 17, and Kathryn McKay, age 17, will be heading to Poland as a part of Team Canada’s dance team at the World Championships.

There are two groups of dancers representing Canada  – one from BC and one from Alberta.

The trio auditioned to be part of the team in October 2018, and found out later that month that they had been accepted. They’ve been preparing ever since.

Team Canada Dance will attend the International Dance Organization World Ballet and Jazz Championships and the World Modern/Contemporary Championships near Warsaw, Poland this December 1 to 9.

The choreographers for the team are Kelsey Chase, Ashlet Sweet, Jocelyn Peden and Jordan Allarie.
