Kelowna families gained a new nirvana today with the opening of the only Once Upon A Child storefront in the Okanagan.

The children's clothing store sells gently used clothing for all seasons, along with footwear, strollers, toys and other essentials for discounted prices.

Locals can sell their own pre-loved items to the store in return for cash or store credit, making the task of keeping up with a growing toddler easier to manage.

Upon opening their doors, the Kelowna store (located at 1780 Baron Rd) was flooded with local moms eager to get the first pick of the inventory.

From today through to the end of Sunday, the store will play host to a number of special guests and activities. The Okanagan Batman will visit on Friday, the Easter Bunny will be there for photos and face painting on Saturday, and Elmo himself will end off a busy first weekend of business on Sunday.

The store is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

If you're on the hunt for some essentials for your little one, but need to stay on budget, don't think twice about paying this place a visit!
